1. General
I provide business consulting services as an independent consultant. In the course of working with clients, I am exposed to business, financial and personal information. This statement explains how I receive, store and use that information, and what I commit to doing to protect it.
2. Information I Receive
During an engagement I may receive information such as financial statements, sales and operational data, information about the business’ customers and suppliers, and contact details of people within the business.
3. How Information Is Received
Information is provided to me in the following ways, at the client’s choice:
- Personal hand delivery of printed documents.
- Digital means, such as email, WhatsApp and file sharing.
- A portable storage device (USB flash drive).
At the client’s request, I receive and send files in encrypted form.
4. Information Storage
- Digital information is stored and processed on my personal, password-protected laptop.
- To protect against data loss, the laptop is backed up to a cloud backup service provided by [backup provider name].
- Printed documents are kept by me in a place not accessible to others.
- At the end of the engagement, and at the client’s request, I will return or delete the information I received, subject to any legal record-keeping obligations.
5. Disclosure to Others
- I work alone, with no employees, partners or subcontractors. No one other than me is exposed to the information.
- I do not transfer, sell or share client information with any third party.
- Where information must be presented to an external party, such as a bank or an investor, the client is the one who provides it. My role is limited to accompanying the client and explaining the data, with the client’s consent.
6. Non-Disclosure Agreement
At the client’s request, I will sign a dedicated non-disclosure agreement. The agreement is attached as Appendix A to this statement.
7. Information Collected on the Website
Details submitted through the website’s contact form, such as name, phone number and email address, are used solely to respond to the inquiry and are not shared with others.
8. Your Rights and Contact
